March 2009

Dear Fellow Republican,

I am writing to you to thank you for the time, talent and treasure that you have contributed to the Republican Party.  There are so many ways that committed volunteers make us the organization that we are!  There is no way that we can win elections, not to mention hold the line, without your efforts.

No matter what election year we are in, every year is important to the function of government in our lives.  We are coming off of a very busy and difficult year in 2008, but it is now time to head forward into 2009.  It is from the roots that the Republican Party will rebuild itself and this is our focus at the NCRC.

The races this year will include County Executive, 5 At-Large County Council seats (right now there is a Democratic majority of one on Council), 3 Judge of Common Pleas (county-level), several District Justice seats and a large number of city and municipal elections.  There will also be a hotly contested race for the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania as there is an even split on the Court by party right now, not to mention 3 Superior Court judges and 2 for Commonwealth Court.

Folks, these are the races that will be the beginning of the road back to majority.  We have to take care of business right here and move forward from this point.  Voter registration efforts are more important than ever and that means getting back to the basics of being a presence in our neighborhoods.  It all starts with each and every one of you!  I hope that you will continue to remain engaged in the process as we take our country back starting right here in Northampton County.

Please consider coming out and being a part of the solution.  Most of all, come and be a part of the rebirth of our Party.

Sincerely,

Roy Shuman

NCRC Chairman
